WELCOME TO CHINGSHIN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Chingshin Academy middle school spans from 7th through 9th grade. During these precious years, we strengthen incoming students’ cognitive and academic abilities to offer a unique experience for enrichment and inspiration.
The Chingshin Academy approach
Our curriculum focuses on inspiring students to take ownership of their learning and includes courses in Mandarin, English, science, math, history, social studies, physical education, and a special discovery program. In these courses, we adopt a student-centered, multi-dimensional, and interdisciplinary approach to engage students in inquiry based learning. Through individual and collaborative assignments of different lengths, our program encourages students to time manage, use resources effectively, and be flexible in all working environments.
Defining aspects of our program
1. Our graduates are empowered with a solid academic, artistic, and psychomotor foundation. We teach them to construct new concepts from existing knowledge using different methods such as experimentation, inquiry, and critical thinking. Based on developmental milestones, we guide students to realize their full potential at every age with an expertly crafted curriculum that extends beyond academics to the real world (community service, presentation, competition, clubs etc.).
2. We graduate students who are prepared for a life far more digital than that of our prior generations. That means hands-on exposure to artificial intelligence, robot design, IoT (Internet of Things) and other technologies. In cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University in the U.S., we have also introduced the STEAM course that will give students access to information technology experts, students from around the world, and participate in international competitions.
3. Just as we devote enormous time and effort to develop students’ academic skills, Chingshin also houses a dynamic curriculum that meets children’s affective, cognitive, and psychomotor needs. All throughout the school year, students take classes in our off campus Discovery Experience Education Park where they learn stress management, real life problem solving, and teamwork. In the unique facility, students participate in different adventures where they are challenged to work patiently with themselves and others.
4. Finally, music is very important to Chingshin Academy’s program. All students are strongly encouraged to learn at least one instrument. We believe early excellence in arts is an important part of success in life as the learning process teaches perseverance, and builds confidence even if it’s not a lifelong pursuit. Given, many of our students develop strong passion for refining their art to compete both nationally and internationally.
